Rand A.
Private tutor in Amman, Jordan
Education
I obtained my Master of Architecture (MArch) degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and practice full time as an architect. I previously obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and English Language and Literature from Mount Holyoke College, magna cum laude with honor.
Experience
I have eight years of private tutoring experience, half of which were geared towards helping high school, college and graduate school students with essay writing and editing. I have taken advanced writing classes and edited publications throughout both my undergraduate and graduate school years. I served as as an academic writing tutor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design for two years. In this role, I helped students from various Masters and PhD programs with their academic writing and thesis projects. I also recently served as a teaching fellow at Harvard College, which has further enriched my teaching experience. I prefer meeting virtually/on zoom. I work alongside the student to carefully edit and annotate each essay/piece of writing in real-time, so that the process is both informative and collaborative. Happy to share my LinkedIn profile/resume upon request.

Hobbies
I am an avid reader. I recently took a creative nonfiction writing workshop at Harvard where I wrote about abandoned movie theatres. I enjoy going to concerts and visiting art museums. I am passionate about being able to support fellow Jordanians in their pursuit of higher education and other academic opportunities abroad, especially young Jordanian women.
